Sept 7

Depart from USA for flight to Barcelona, Spain.  Dinner and breakfast served on flight.

Sept 8 Upon arrival in Barcelona we will be met by our tour guide and have a short tour of the city and a chance to see the outside of Sagrada Familia. Construction on this church, Antoni Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece, began in 1884 and will continue for at least another decade.  Dinner and overnight in Costa Brava.

Sept 9


Today we will visit the Cave of Saint Ignatius.  It is the place where, according to tradition, Ignatius wrote his Spiritual Exercises. Our next destination is the Abby of Montserrat.  According to Catholic tradition, the statue of the Black Virgin of Montserrat was carved by St. Luke around 50 AD and brought to Spain. Since the 12th century, pilgrims have been drawn to the mountain to venerate the miraculous statue of the Black Madonna (La Moreneta).  After our visit we will return to Barcelona where you will have some free time. Dinner and overnight in Costa Brava.
Sept 10 After breakfast we leave for Lourdes.  On the way we will have a short visit in the medieval city of Carcassonne.  We will reach Lourdes by evening.  After dinner we will talk part in the evening Rosary and candle light procession. 
Sept 11

Sept 12

We will have two full days in Lourdes.  You will have time to visit the baths, attend Holy Mass, see the Via Crucis and take part in the Eucharistic evening candlelight procession.  We will also visit the house where St. Bernadette lived.  Dinner and overnight in Lourdes 

Sept 13

This morning we will leave Lourdes and travel to Loyola, the birthplace of St. Ignatius.  We will also visit Limpias.  Dinner and overnight
Sept 14 This morning we will visit Garabandal, small village in northern Spain where Our Lady was reported to appear to four young girls from October 1961 until June 1965.  We leave Garabandal and reach our hotel near Leon for dinner and overnight.
Sept 15 On our way to Santiago de Compostela, the burial place of St. James we will stop in O'Cebreiro to see a Eucharistic Miracle which occurred in 1300.  After the visit we will continue to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Sept 16 Today we will visit the convent in Pontevedra where sister Lucia received the devotion of the Five First Saturdays from our Lady.  After our visit we will continue our travel to Fatima, reaching there by evening.  Dinner and overnight

Sept 18

We will have two full days in Fatima.  We gather in Cova de Iria an enormous plaza where a little chapel was built and where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to the children. We will celebrate Holy Mass in the square.  On the far side of the plaza rises the great basilica which was begun on 13 of May 1928. In the basilica are the tombs of the three visionaries, siblings Francisco and Jacinta Marto, who died in 1919 and 1920 respectively, and were beatified in 1970 and their cousin Lucia dos Santos who died in 2005.  We will also visit Aljustrel, the village of the little shepherds.  In the evening we will join in the torch-light procession in Fatima.
Sept 19 Today we head for Lisbon.  On the way we will stop at the Knights of Templar castle in Tomar, Portugal.  Next we visit the Church of the Holy Miracle, site of site of a 13th century Eucharistic miracle in Santarem.    Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.
Sept 20

We will spend our final day in Lisbon where we will visit the home of St. Anthony of Padua, Rossio Square in the heart of Lisbon, the King monument, St. Jerome monastery and Belem Tower, built in 1515 on the Tagus River to protect the city of Lisbon.  Dinner and overnight

Sept 21 Transfer to the airport, filled with cherished memories, for your return flight home.
